Polished Copper Interior Trends – KC Home Show
Interior Designer Kristin Rieke
Over the last couple of years the “gold” hued metals have been on a rise! In jewelry we have been loving rose gold, polished gold, metallic golds and even brass! All of the said finishes are great, but the new one of choice is polished copper. Copper has been around the industry forever, most recently we saw a wave of a more rustic take on the metal (think of all the hammered copper sinks and light fixtures!). The polished finish is unique because as bright and striking as it is it reads very organic, modern and minimalist. It is installed a lot in the kitchen (lighting, hardware, shelving, dinnerware, serving bowls, etc). But again as with anything else I might suggest, this is a trend it is up to you to embrace it in your home how you best see fit!
For the KC Home Show I purchased a small 6″x6″ Photo Frame (in Polished Copper of course!) and inside instead of inserting a picture I chose the ever so popular “play on words” trend instead! Minted is one of my go to sources for art prints especially those of favorite quotes or phrases, but if you are more of a DIY’er you could easily hand letter a phrase of your choice to insert in the frame as well!
Since I was prepping for a segment on KCTV5 “Better KC” I thought “Good Morning Kansas City” was perfect!
But my point is that you can introduce yourself and your home to a trend with something as small as this tiny frame (P.S. I found this fab frame at Marshalls!)
